COLUMBIA -- House Republican leaders issued the following statements on Gov. Mark Sanford's budget vetoes Tuesday.


House Majority Leader Jim Merrill, R-Daniel Island:
"The House majority appreciates the governor's attention to the budget and the detailed explanation of his vetoes. We will take a few days for our members to review the statement before we consider them later this week or early next week."


House Ways and Means Chairman Bobby Harrell, R-Charleston:
"We're pleased the governor delivered the vetoes as quickly as he did and we look forward to reviewing the veto message."


House Assistant Majority Leader Adam Taylor, R-Laurens:
"We are looking forward to carefully reviewing the governor's veto letter and discussing each of the vetoes on the house floor in the next few days."
