Week 3 action: Secret Ballot, Spending Limits, Budget top business
January 25, 2010

The House returns to work tomorrow for the third week of the session, and as is usual with the House during late January and early February, most of the work will be in the Ways and Means subcommittees as they busily prepare the budget.

Ways and Means subcommittees will be meeting each day this week to analyze budget requests from various state agencies. To find out which committees are meeting, and which agencies are presenting, click here.

There are a number of bills on the calendars in the House and Senate that address House Republican Caucus agenda items.

Still on the Senate calendar are H 3305 and H. 3222 which call for a mandatory secret ballot in union organizing votes. This was a Caucus agenda item last year, and is on our list of "Unfinished Business" for this year.

The House's voting reform legislation from last year will also be in the Senate as H. 3418.

To see what is happening on the House floor, you can always click here for the current House calendar.

And as always, the House Republican Caucus will hold our weekly Caucus meeting (always open to he public) at 11 am in the Blatt Building.
