Republican Caucus End of Session Report
July 28, 2010

The House Republican Caucus completed a long list of conservative accomplishments in 2010, headlined by the reform of the Employment Security Commission and an extensive overhaul of our state's economic development tools.

The House of Representatives approved several transparency initiatives -- including on-the-record voting and expanded campaign contribution disclosure rules.  We also worked to make government more accountable, and made sweeping changes to the way we recruit new businesses to our state.

As conservatives, our basic philosophy rests on lower taxes and a smaller and more efficient government. The House approved strict state spending limits, and gave the unborn new legal protections.

Unfortunately, not all of these victories were approved by the Senate, but we are already getting ready to fight these battles again in 2011.
