This editorial in The Greenville News supports one of our key items of "Unfinished Business" from 2009 -- bills currently in the S.C. Senate.

South Carolina’s governor and lieutenant governor need to run as a team. It makes no sense to have this state’s governor and lieutenant
governor elected separately and independently every four years.
The state Legislature needs to follow through with legislation that would allow gubernatorial candidates to select their running mate, just as
presidential candidates select their partner on the national ticket. South Carolina voters should contact their state senators and demand
that they allow voters to decide in November if the governor and lieutenant governor will run as a team beginning in 2014. That’s not
all voters should demand, but it’s a start.
